More than 100 shrines to discover and explore.

Shrines are scattered throughout the landscape of Hyrule, waiting for you to discover them in any order. Find them in various ways and solve the different puzzles they contain. Make your way through the traps and mechanical contraptions in the shrines to obtain special items and other objects that will help you on your adventure.

Prepare and equip yourself thoroughly.

An entire world is waiting for you to explore it; you will need a variety of outfits and equipment to reach every corner. You will have to wrap up or wear lighter clothing to adapt to freezing climates and desert heat. Some clothing can even produce certain effects on you, such as making you faster or more stealthy.

Fighting enemies requires strategy.

The world is inhabited by enemies of all shapes and sizes. Each one has its own attack methods and weapons, so you will need to think quickly and develop the right strategies to defeat them.

Weapons and combat.

To survive the wilds of Hyrule, Link will have to equip himself with a variety of new weapons.

Wolf Link.

If you use the Wolf Link amiibo (sold separately), Wolf Link will appear in the game. He will attack your enemies on his own and help you find items. A new series of The Legend of Zelda amiibo is on the way.

Hunting and gathering.

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link must use his wits more than ever as he explores Hyrule.
