Welcome to the big city!

Your adventure takes place in the largest city in the Kalos region. Here, establishments such as cafés, shopping centres and restaurants coexist with areas where nature runs wild, such as lakes and parks with lush vegetation. Quasartico Inc. has launched an urban development plan with the aim of turning Lumiose City into a place where both humans and Pokémon can feel at home.

Your adventure companion

After arriving in Lumiose City to admire the sights, certain events will lead you to befriend a Pokémon that will accompany you on your adventure as a Pokémon Trainer. Who will you join forces with: Chikorita, Tepig or Totodile?

Real-time Pokémon battles

For the first time, both you and your Pokémon can move and act in real time during battles! Give them commands to use their moves instantly, roll to dodge attacks and much more!

In addition to type match-ups, there will also be new mechanics to consider, such as the right moment to use a move or switch Pokémon, judging how long moves take to execute and considering their range.

Embrace your urban side

In Lumiose City, day and night are worlds apart! During the day, explore the urban landscape and catch wild Pokémon to add to your team.

The Z-A Royale begins!

When the sun goes down... battles heat up! They take place in designated battle zones throughout the city, where Trainers and their Pokémon await, ready to challenge you and climb the ranks in an intense competition: the Z-A Royale.

The residents of Lumiose City

Your base of operations is Hotel Z, an old but charming establishment owned by the mysterious A. Z. During your stay in the metropolis, you will also meet a whole host of peculiar characters!

Master the power of Mega Evolution

In Lumiose City, certain Pokémon can Mega Evolve and unleash their hidden energy. As well as changing their appearance and gaining greater power, certain Pokémon may also change type!

Frenetic battles for four players

Put your skills to the test in the Z-A Battle Club! Face up to three Trainers locally or online and try to defeat the greatest number of Pokémon within the three-minute time limit!

At the start of the battle, each player will appear in a different area of the arena. Seek out the other Trainers to face them and earn one point for each Pokémon you defeat. Keep an eye out for useful items such as Mega Shards, which allow your Pokémon to Mega Evolve. They will be invaluable for gaining an advantage over your rivals!

What's more, you can face players from around the world in Ranked Battles! Earn points based on your results and climb the rankings: rise from Rank Z to Rank A! The higher your position in the rankings, the more rewards you will receive during the season.
