Attention, Trainer! Prepare your backpack and stock up on plenty of Poké Balls, because a new adventure awaits you in the Galar region with the 8th generation of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, the latest instalments in the Pokémon series for Nintendo Switch.

In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield you’ll explore Galar, a vast region with a wide variety of environments: idyllic rural areas, modern cities, expansive plains and rugged, snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokémon who live here work side by side to drive industry forward, as those who travel across Galar and visit the various Gyms scattered throughout the region in their quest to become Champion will discover.

What’s more, you won’t have to do it alone, as you can choose between three newly discovered Pokémon to accompany you along the way: Grookey, Scorbunny or Sobble. Grookey is a mischievous Grass-type Chimp Pokémon with endless curiosity; Scorbunny is an energetic Fire-type Rabbit Pokémon that is constantly on the move, and Sobble is a stealthy Water-type Lizard Pokémon that attacks from a distance while hiding underwater.

The Isle of Armor
Venture to a giant island off the coast of the Galar region: the Isle of Armor! There, you’ll explore beaches, forests, wetlands, caves and sand dunes. You’ll train under Mustard, former Champion of Galar and the mentor of Champion Leon!

You’ll also meet new rivals, have the chance to hone your skills and master new fighting styles with Kubfu, a Legendary Pokémon. As if that weren’t enough, the final evolution of the Pokémon companion you chose at the start of your journey will also be able to take on a Gigantamax form. Discover the new forms of Rillaboom, Cinderace and Inteleon, as well as a new Gigantamax move!

The Crown Tundra
Lead an expedition through the snow-battered lands of the Crown Tundra and unravel the mystery surrounding Calyrex, who once ruled over the area. What’s more, through a new co-operative mode, you’ll be able to explore Pokémon dens that you had previously only been able to glimpse during Max Raid Battles. You may even see Legendary Pokémon from previous instalments Dynamax before your eyes—and perhaps even catch them!
