Thanks to Nintendo Switch, fans can enjoy the definitive version of Mario Kart 8 wherever and whenever they want, including local multiplayer races for up to eight drivers. The popular courses and characters from the Wii U version return, along with the downloadable courses and characters, and new racers also join the line-up: the Inkling boy and Inkling girl from Splatoon, King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr. The Battle mode has also been completely revamped with Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast, as well as the inclusion of brand-new courses such as Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, which join old favourites such as Luigi’s Mansion (GCN) and Battle Course 1 from Super Mario Kart (Super Nintendo Entertainment System).
You can now carry two items simultaneously, including some from previous Mario Kart games, such as the item-stealing Boo and the Feather, which allows you to jump during battles. In addition, racers can use the new Smart Steering feature, which helps prevent them from going off the track, even in 200cc races. In TV mode, the game reaches a resolution of 1080p. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be released on 28 April.
