You can use amiibo with Nintendo Switch by tapping it on the NFC touchpoint of the right Joy-Con or Pro Controller for Nintendo Switch (sold separately).

While you play, the data on your figure will also be updated, so as you play, your amiibo becomes increasingly unique.
