Luigi, Mario’s eternal little brother, has got his very own Amiibo figure. The timid plumber in green wasn’t going to miss the chance to show what he’s capable of.

Discover amiibo, a new way to interact with your favourite Nintendo characters and games. If you touch the NFC point on the Wii U GamePad with the figure while playing certain games, the chip’s data will be transferred to the game for use in various ways. While you play, the data on your figure will also be updated, so the more you play, the more unique your amiibo becomes.

- Watch your Amiibo fight and grow. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can transfer your amiibo’s data so that it appears in the game and fights for you. As your amiibo fights, it will develop its own unique skills and attributes, becoming stronger and learning new moves. You can even add your personal touch to battles by customising its special attacks!
- Connect with a wide variety of games! As well as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can use amiibo with many other games, and how they are used will depend on the game. A wide variety of figures from different franchises will be available in the future
- Also compatible with Nintendo 2DS and 3DS. As well as working with Wii U, amiibo will also be usable with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS thanks to an accessory scheduled for release in 2015. More details about the planned compatible software for Nintendo 3DS will be announced in the future
