Gran Turismo Sport features two official online championships sanctioned by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), which take place at the same time. In the Nations Cup, players will be able to represent their own country. In the Manufacturers Series, players will be able to choose their favourite manufacturer.

Users will not only race as drivers, they will also compete for their country and their favourite team.

The championship winner will be honoured in the same way as real drivers, at an FIA ceremony. This will be a historic moment, the first time that a video game will be officially recognised as part of the world of motor sport.
