On the war-ravaged planets of tomorrow, humanity’s most important battle is about to begin. With its frontier colonies destroyed as a result of a growing insurrection, Earth sends the 8th Armoured Infantry (nicknamed Section 8), an elite command whose mission is to repel the increasingly imminent massacre. The nickname refers to an old US military regulation under which a soldier would be relieved of their duties for being mentally unfit for service. The near-suicidal missions for which the 8th Armoured Infantry volunteers make it appear to other units as a division made up of mentally unstable men.
