Monster Hunter: World presents a living ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter who tracks down and defeats ferocious beasts in thrilling battles that unfold across a vast, constantly evolving landscape. Embark on a solo quest or team up with up to three hunters using a new drop-in online multiplayer system, which allows cross-regional co-operative play between Japan and the West, bringing the player bases together for the first time.

Retaining the series' robust crafting system and skill-based progression, players will prepare to venture out on missions to track down and defeat monsters, progressively improving their skills to become the ultimate hunter. The loot obtained from fallen enemies can be used to craft new equipment and upgrades for stylish armour after defeating monsters, allowing hunters to survive the elements and overcome the toughest rivals that await them in the game.

Monster Hunter: World offers a seamless gameplay experience for moving freely between the different areas of the map that make up the living ecosystems and dynamic transitions from day to night. The landscape and its various inhabitants play a critical role in every adventure, as players strategically use the surrounding environment, terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle, or find themselves hindered by the dangers in their path. Hunters must use their cunning and skill to locate and manoeuvre around their targets during intense, evolving battles.

With flexible online multiplayer options and an accessible mission structure, players can face their challenges alone or join up with up to three other hunters in co-operative play. For the first time in the Monster Hunter series, players from Japan and Western countries will be able to play together online, providing a larger pool of hunting companions for co-operative play. With the new drop-in online functionality, players playing solo can request assistance from the worldwide community during their adventures when their opponents are too intimidating to handle alone.

Features:

- Welcome to the new World: Taking on the role of a hunter, players must embark on an expedition to a recently discovered continent known as the new world. They will have to undertake missions to discover more about this mysterious land.

- A truly living ecosystem: Use the landscape around you and its wildlife to your advantage. For example, pit one monster against another to lure the primary target to the right location, but be careful not to disturb them too much or you may also find yourself in danger.

- Simultaneous worldwide release: Monster Hunter World will be the first instalment to launch simultaneously worldwide on both the PlayStation 4 entertainment system and Xbox One in early 2018.

- Drop-in online multiplayer system: When the battle is too difficult to undertake alone, call on up to 3 hunters to help you during the mission by sending an SOS flare to a worldwide server packed with potential teammates.

- Hunt for new equipment: Defeat monsters and collect loot from fallen enemies to obtain equipment and weapons made from the monsters that have been slain. Choosing the right equipment and weapons can help exploit weaknesses and gain an advantage in battle.

- Mount the beasts: A wide variety of ferocious creatures inhabit the new world's map, including the Rathalos and the new Anjanath. Players can mount monsters using the dynamic mounting system, allowing them to travel on the monster's back and inflict damage on their enemies.

- Continuous gameplay: Players and monsters can move freely from one area of the map to another without loading screens while the dynamic transition between night and day occurs naturally.
