Monster Hunter: World presents a living ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter who tracks down and takes on fierce beasts in thrilling battles across a vast, ever-evolving landscape. Embark on a solo crusade or team up with up to three hunters with a new drop-in online multiplayer system, enabling cross-regional cooperative play between Japan and the West and bringing the player bases together for the first time.

Retaining the series' robust crafting system and skill-based progression, players will prepare to venture out on missions to hunt and take down monsters, progressively improving their skills to become the ultimate hunter. Loot obtained from fallen enemies can be used to craft new equipment and upgrades for stylish armour, allowing hunters to withstand the elements and defeat the toughest rivals that await them in the game.

Monster Hunter: World offers a seamless gameplay experience, allowing players to move freely between the different areas of the map that make up the living ecosystems and dynamic transitions from day to night. The landscape and its various inhabitants play a critical role in every adventure as players strategically use the surrounding environment, terrain, vegetation and wildlife to their advantage in battle, or are hindered by the dangers that lie before them. Hunters must use their cunning and skill to locate and manoeuvre around their targets throughout intense, evolving battles.

With flexible online multiplayer options and an accessible mission structure, players can tackle their challenges alone or join up with up to three other hunters in cooperative play. For the first time in the Monster Hunter series, players from Japan and Western countries will be able to play together online, providing a larger base of cooperative hunting companions. With the new drop-in online functionality, players who are playing solo can call for assistance from the global community during their adventures when their opponents are too intimidating to handle alone.

Features:

- Welcome to the New World: Taking on the role of a hunter, players must embark on an expedition to a recently discovered continent known as the New World. They will have to undertake missions to discover more about this mysterious land.

- A living ecosystem: Use the surrounding landscape and its wildlife to your advantage. For example, pit one monster against another to lure the main target creature to the right place, but be careful not to disturb them too much or you could also find yourself in danger.

- Simultaneous worldwide release: Monster Hunter: World will be the first title to launch simultaneously worldwide on the PlayStation 4 entertainment system and Xbox One in early 2018.

- Drop-in online multiplayer system: When the battle is too difficult to tackle alone, call on up to 3 hunters to help you during the mission by sending an SOS flare to a worldwide server full of potential teammates.

- Hunt to obtain new equipment: Defeat monsters and collect loot from fallen enemies to obtain equipment and weapons made from the monsters that have been slain. Choosing the right equipment and weapons can help exploit weaknesses and gain the upper hand in battle.

- Mount the beasts: A wide variety of fierce creatures inhabit the New World map, including the Rathalos and the new Anjanath. Players can mount monsters using the dynamic mounting system, allowing them to travel on the monster's back and inflict damage on their enemies.

- Ongoing gameplay: Players and monsters can move freely from one area of the map to another without loading screens, while the dynamic transition between night and day occurs naturally.
