Their design includes sophisticated HD rumble functionality, which provides much more realistic vibration than before, and allows you to use one in each hand or share them with a friend; you can also attach them to the Joy-Con controller grip (sold separately), transforming them into a traditional-style controller. Each Joy-Con contains its own buttons, accelerometer sensor and motion sensor, enabling it to function as a standalone controller.

In addition, the Joy-Con controllers feature new capabilities that make Nintendo Switch more interactive. The left Joy-Con has a capture button for taking screenshots during your games and sharing them via social media. The right Joy-Con, meanwhile, features an NFC point for using amiibo figures, as well as an infrared motion camera that detects the distance, shape and movement of nearby objects in games designed for this technology.
